Job description
Chicago’s First Lady, the industry leader in Chicago tours and private events, is seeking a Guest Service Ambassador to join our exciting and high volume workplace. Serving Chicago for over 80 years, our company has grown to include nine vessels operating every March - November from our dock at the southeast corner of the Michigan Avenue Bridge. Chicago’s First Lady is focused on building loyalty and value with its guests through great service, outstanding products, operational excellence and innovative leadership.

The Guest Service Ambassador is responsible for welcoming and providing exceptional service to our guests and potential guests, in an aesthetically pleasing and functional outdoor space on the beautiful Chicago Riverwalk. This includes, but is not limited to, answering questions, providing product information and resolving concerns while also ensuring that the guest leaves satisfied with your service. As a primary agent of our organization, it is vitally important that all Guest Service Ambassadors be personable and outgoing. Other key job responsibilities include:
Cordially greeting all guests, providing them with excellent customer service
Drawing attention to your location through shouting out our product offerings
Seeking out opportunities to engage and assist passers-by
Answering questions concerning tour and ticketing options, fares, routes, schedules and reservations
Crowd control and line management
Ticket verification and entry scanning
Monitor company property, private areas, and equipment for security breaches and safety hazards
Addressing issues immediately and openly with the assistance of a supervisor
Working and communicating within a sales team, with the goal of maximizing business
Keeping a positive attitude in stressful situations
Multitasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment
Maintaining high attention to detail
Standing for long periods of time, while maintaining good posture, in all weather conditions
Other physical requirements including climbing stairs, bending, carrying, and lifting paper materials and some equipment
Performing other related duties as directed by management
Conformance of all company standards and core values is essential
Full open availability, including nights, weekends and holidays is required
